Sophie Nazerian is bringing women's best doctor recommendations into the light
Sophie Nazerian · Published November 4, 2026
Sophie and her cofounder Nuzi both live with chronic conditions. With Noor Health, they're taking the doctor recommendations women usually share in private and putting them out in the open.
Ask a woman with a chronic condition how she finally found a doctor who listened, and odds are a friend sent her. A name passed along in a group chat. A DM that said "you have to see mine." If you weren't in the right chat, you started from scratch.
Sophie Nazerian and her cofounder Nuzi know that search firsthand. They met working in tech banking, they both live with chronic conditions, and they decided those recommendations deserved a real home. That home is Noor Health. Noor means light in each of their native languages, and that's the whole idea.
Sophie showed us how they built the Noor beta at Built by Willa, our member show and tell in October. It was one of those demos where you immediately think of five friends who need it.
How it works
Noor is a community-powered platform where women find health practitioners trusted by other women. Instead of picking a specialty from a dropdown, you describe your symptoms and experience in your own words. Noor matches you with practitioners rated by women in your network and by women with similar conditions.
The ratings cover what actually matters, like whether a doctor listens and whether they understand hormones. AI-generated summaries and questions from the community help you walk into your appointment prepared.
Why we love it
Too many women feel dismissed by the healthcare system. Sophie and Nuzi took their own experience and turned it into something that could save other women years of searching. That's a big swing, and we're cheering loudly.
